Los Angeles, CA--Friday, August 17, 2007--She can make you laugh with her comic timing and exuberance, or she can make you cry with her perfect pitch and majestic mezzo-soprano voice soaring in song. What's more, she can do it from the stage or in front of a camera ... her name is Ellia English. This Georgia native and Los Angeles resident (by way of NYC) has been on a long and steady climb as a professional performer, gathering experience as she journeyed from the wide-open spaces of rural Georgia, to the concrete jungles of Manhattan and on to the Technicolor splendor of sunny Los Angeles. This September, Ellia English continues her rise with her hilarious role as new series regular Auntie Rae on Larry David's hugely successful and critically acclaimed series Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO (the sixth season debuts on HBO, Sunday, September 9, check your local listings).

On September 21, Ellia can be seen on the silver screen as Reba in the Lions Gate feature film Good Luck Chuck starring "It Girl" Jessica Alba and white hot comic Dane Cook. The roles just keep getting better and better for Ellia English but she is far from an “overnight success.” There have been many stops along the way for this multi-talented, veteran performer.

“I am truly blessed at this point in my life. I've had a long and wonderfully enriching run in the theater, which is where I started and which I still love and try to keep my hand in when my schedule allows. I have been able to stay very busy throughout my career and my television and film roles are increasing in regularity and significance. You know I love working in film and TV, 'oh yeah', they pay the bills! And I l simply love California, heat waves and all. I have some very exciting projects coming up. It is truly a joy working with a comedic genius like Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm and I have a very interesting role in the soon to be released film comedy Good Luck Chuck starring Jessica Alba and Dane Cook. I also recently wrapped the shooting of my role in another film comedy entitled Semi-Pro, starring Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson and Andre (3000) Benjamin, which is scheduled for release in February, 2008. It is an honor and a pleasure working with such seasoned actors as myself, and it is truly understandable why they are called A-list talent. They know how to deliver a joke, so much so, that we make each other laugh. I love to make people laugh, which is so important in these times and whatever success I am experiencing only serves to let me know that hard work truly does pay off," Ellia says.
