Texas Rangers interviews with Cedric Bailey on winning the A.L. West

Arlington: During Monday game against the Seattle Mariners, Ron Washington Texas Rangers unveiled the 2010 Banner and flags at the A.L. West Champions. A crowd of 30,000 was attendance to witness this wonderful occasion.
The Rangers clinched their first division title since 1999 on Saturday in Oakland, and then celebrated with their fans on Monday when they opened a season-ending seven-game home stand. One slot on the left of the row of flags over the outfield facade was blank until the AL West flag was revealed. The crowd responded with a standing ovation. The team also unveiled an outfield banner commemorating the AL West title.

Meanwhile for Ron Washington this was a great accomplishment during his major league managing career. There were times when Ranger fans wanted sweep him under the bus. However thanks to Rangers management Nolan Ryan and Jon Daniels they saw something else in Washington. One of key observations was the respect from his staff and players during the past three years. This team starts believing that they could beat the Angels and the A’s. When the Rangers were in town I would go to Washington and shake his hand and let him know that we were praying him and the team. We would say if ain’t broke don’t fix it. Washington is now the first American American Manager to lead the Texas Rangers to a division title.

Through all of their issues during the season, the Rangers never released their stranglehold on the division. They took over first place May 2, spent all of three days over the next five weeks in second, and took control for good June 8. They led by 4.5 games at the All-Star break, have led by as many as 10 games and have not held a lead of less than seven games since July 24.
Now comes the next step: Winning a playoff series. Since the Rangers last visited the playoffs, Houston, Tampa Bay, Colorado, Arizona and the Los Angeles Angels all won playoff series, leaving the Rangers as the only major league team to have never won a post-season series. They go in with a nine-game losing streak that dates to 1996. This has a great opportunity to make it to the World Series. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Yankees, Twins or Rays, Washington will have his team focused all the way till the end.

The Rangers will meet the winner of the AL East race Tampa Bay in the AL Division Series beginning Oct. 6. Game 3 of that series and Game 4, if necessary, will be played in Arlington Oct. 9-10.

Bishop Eddie Long message on Sunday Sept 26 from New Birth Baptist Church

On a Sunday morning in the Atlanta suburb of Lithonia GA. Bishop Eddie Long speaks to his morning congregation. The church is currently on a 21 day fast and consecration and this Sunday is the final day. His message was on David and his battle with the giant Goliath.

As a radio announcer and a deacon in the church, I have decided to only share this podcast as an outlet to hear from Bishop Eddie Long. Over the year I have to remember my mistakes in life that I made and how God brought me out of my situation.

In closing Bishop Eddie Long has decided to stay on as the Pastor of New Birth Baptist Church. You can listen his message right by clicking play.

Bryan Wilson interview with Gospel Fruits on Rejoice Musical Soul Food

Thanks for visit Gospel Fruits with Humilitee on Rejoice Musical Soul Food.

A special thank you to Mr. Bill Carpenter and Bryan Wilson for the interview.

Former child Gospel star Bryan Wilson is gearing up for A Second Coming: the second coming of Christ through music and his second coming as a recording artist. In 1994, the then-12 year old’s soulful, melismatic rendition of “His Eye on the Sparrow” with the Mississippi Children’s Choir made him an overnight gospel sensation. What followed were Dove and Stellar award nominations, two solo CDS and tours with a who’s who of gospel artists. After a voice change and time off for college at Princeton University, Wilson is now ready for his Second Coming.

A Second Coming is Wilson’s first CD release since 1999’s Growing Up and it’s a departure. Whereas, Wilson’s childhood music was traditional, old school gospel; his new sound is urban contemporary. The project features tracks by the Washington, D.C. area’s 1 Up Entertainment production team that has produced hits ..shia Cole, Usher and Ciara. There are also tracks by up and coming producer Kris “Doc Sizzle” Bell, who has collaborated with contemporary gospel legend John P. Kee and rapper B.B. Jay. It’s the first time Wilson had a hand in writing, co-producing and arranging all of the songs. “My manager had asked some known songwriters to submit songs for the project and nothing came through,” Wilson recalls. “So, I just started writing what the Lord placed on my heart and this is the result.”

Drawing from his own life experiences and faith, Wilson wrote or co-wrote the twelve faith-based songs covering everything from a soured romance on “Smile” and an absentee dad on “Still, My Father” to a bad day at work on “Just Do Something.” It’s a smooth, urban contemporary vibe without the slickness of some pop music. “It has a really raw sound,” Wilson says. “The way the vocals are mixed is especially raw, but I like it. It’s a little different but I think people will like it. However, all music theory aside, my main mission for these songs is to encourage and save souls for Christ.”

In his past, Wilson has been cheated out of royalties and never received the full promotional support he desired, so he decided to go independent for his comeback project. He and his manager decided to finance and release the CD themselves through their Bryan’s Songs Records/CE Music label. “In the gospel world, the major labels are shrinking and more and more indie artists are rising up,” says Wilson. “So, it’s the perfect time to launch my own company and create a foundation so that I can open the door for other great gospel talent.”

The album has produced singles in "My Soul Boats in the Lord", "Change in Me", "Secret Place" and "Just Do Something" on XM, Sirius, Rejoice, The Light and local radio stations around the country. Bryan has just finished a handful of studio songs to add to a deluxe digital reissue of "A Second Coming." The current radio single "Everybody Clap Your Hands" will be featured on that digital release.

Look for Bryan's "Bapolstogic Begins" CD in 2011.

Earlier we introduced you to Jor’dan Armstrong; now let’s talk with Leah Smith of Philadelphia.

She is an artist is found that is musically diverse, culturally relevant, visibly accessible, and able to deliver quality music without fail. That moment is reached each time one experiences the sounds of Leah Smith. From acoustic melodies, to heavy hitting beats, orchestral compositions to the stripped down, unplugged sound of a sole piano and vocalist, 21-year-old Leah Smith delivers it all. Her voice effortlessly transitions in and out of high octaves, and her music moves from ballads to hip-hop inspired, upbeat tempos with ease.

Hailing from the streets of North Philadelphia and a product of Philadelphia’s prestigious Creative and Performing Arts High School, music has always been a part of Leah’s life. Smith gave her first vocal solo at the age of 4 and at the age of 9, began singing with the Temple University Program for Gifted Young Musicians. She began recording with the Baltimore based group Sandtown before she was even in a double digit age category and began writing songs at age 11. In 2008, Smith became the winner of the Best of Philly Rising/World Café Live Showcase and released her debut EP entitled Beautifully Made in October 2009 to rave reviews. Smith’s current single, Monster debuted at number 1 on digstation.com within its first week of sales.

Singer/Songwriter/Musician Leah Smith has shared the stage with Grammy Award winning artists such as Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, and Israel Houghton. A former member of Israel Houghton and New Breed, Smith has already toured the United States, Asia, Europe, and Australia. Smith’s music offers a breath of fresh air to the music that mainstream culture has grown accustomed to. Leah Smith wants to share with her listeners that “real, living hope is accessible to all.” Her sound crosses genre barriers blending soul, gospel, pop, and folk musical styles to create a sound all her own. Smith's debut EP Entitled Beautifully Made is in stores now.

The Battle for 2nd place in the A.L.

Arlington TX: The Texas Rangers are home from a road trip against Tampa Bay and Baltimore. The outcome was 2 win and 5 losses. However they still have an 8 game lead in the A.L. West. Now Ron Washington ball club is at home for seven games, 4 with the Twins and 4 with the A’s. This series is very important to the Rangers because it would allow the club to have home field advantage during the Division Series in October.

Meanwhile let’s take a look at what happen on Monday night. Ranger’s right-hander Rich Harden was fresh off his latest trip to the disabled list to mend a creaky shoulder. His stuff was at its best as he nearly was part of history.

Harden no-hit the Twins for 6 2/3 innings before leaving the game with 111 pitches thrown. Matt Harrison retired Jim Thome to end the seventh inning, and Darren O'Day pitched a perfect eighth. But Joe Mauer's seeing-eye single up the middle off Neftali Feliz with one out in the ninth kept the Twins from making history. Feliz struck out Jason Kubel and got Michael Cuddyer to tap back to the mound to finish off a 4-0 victory.

Mauer also broke up the previous no-hit attempt against the Twins to last into the ninth inning, hitting a one-out double off White Sox right-hander Gavin Floyd on May 6, 2008. It would have been the sixth no-hitter in Rangers history and first since Kenny Rogers' perfect game July 28, 1994. It would have been the fifth time the Twins have been no-hit, the first since the Yankees' David Wells threw a perfect game at them on May 17, 1998.

And calling the game Monday behind home plate was Jim Joyce, whose incorrect call with two outs in the ninth cost Detroit's Armando Galarraga a perfect game on June 2.

Harden more or less rolled through the Twins lineup, even though he issued five walks and fought through some deep counts. Harden was piling up the outs but piling up the pitches, and manager Ron Washington was booed by the announced crowd of 22,757 as he went to the mound and pulled Harden from the game after a brief conversation. Harrison replaced Harden and got Jim Thome to fly out to center to end the inning. O'Day followed that up with a 1-2-3 eighth. Delmon Young grounded out to first, as Mitch Moreland handled a tricky hop when the ball hit the bag. Danny Valencia and J.J. Hardy struck out as the crowd rose to its feet and roared.

After the game I had the opportunity to talk with Rangers President Nolan Ryan about the team’s performance. He stated that he found himself cheering as a fan to the no-hitter. However he is very pleased with the team support and knows that his organization is looking better each day. To hear the entire interview log on to www.cedricbailey.podomatic.com

Pastor Denny Davis One on One with Cedric Bailey on Rejoice Musical Soul Food

        Pastor Denny D. Davis

It's back to school time and Friday evening the St John Baptist Church held a three day conference for the youth. The weekend ended on a postive note with a concert for the youth lead by Kandis Davis. Our next podcast will feature one on one interview with Jordan Armstrong, Brandon Camphor and Oneway, Jai, and Leah Smith and many others. However this podcast is an interview with Pastor Denny Davis. A great pastor must possess both vision and a heart for God and His people. The St. John Church has found both and more in Pastor Denny D. Davis, Sr. He is a pastor with conviction, integrity, and a big heart, who has been shepherding the St. John Church for 19 years.

Pastor Davis, was born to Almeda and Andrew Davis and was reared as an only child in the rural city of Champaign, Illinois. At 12 years old, Pastor Davis gave his life to Christ, by the tender age of 14, he knew he was called to the ministry and began handwriting sermons in his bedroom. It was at his home church, The Mount Olive Baptist Church pastored by Rev. Lundy Savage, that Pastor Davis announced his call to preach in 1976. Rev. Savage continued to encourage and nurture Pastor Davis’ gift and allowed him to preach his first sermon February 17, 1977.
Pastor Davis knew he needed to cultivate his gift further through formal education and with the support and encouragement of his mother, after high school, he moved to Dallas, Texas to pursue a Bachelors degree in Religion with a minor in Business Administration from Bishop College. During his college years, Pastor Davis was the President of the Minister’s Lyceum and was heavily involved with many churches in the Dallas community.
His gift and calling was continually nurtured and developed under the watch of many of Dallas’ veteran pastors and preachers, including the late Rev. S.M. Wright of The People’s Baptist Church. It was with the support of these pastors, that Rev. Davis learned what it truly meant to shepherd and lead a people.

In 1983, Pastor Davis married his high school love, Wanda Bolton-Davis, the two made there home in Dallas. In August 1984, Pastor Davis accepted his first pastoral position at the Mount Rose Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and just one year later, the Davis’ had their first child.

Pastor Davis continued his educational pursuit and received his Masters in Theology from Brite School of Divinity at Texas Christian University. The Davis’ then gave birth to their second child and three years later, in 1991, Pastor Davis was called to pastor the St. John Church in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Since assuming the pastorate position, St. John has grown exponentially both spiritually and physically. The Lord has blessed and added more than 12,000 new members, and more than 80 ministries within the church.
In 1995, one year before the Davis’ third child was born, the St. John Church was able to retire a half million-dollar mortgage note, within 26 months. This allowed the ministry to work towards Vision 2000, a 3.5 million dollar, much-needed expansion project, which was completed debt free in 2000.

Shortly after the completion of Vision 2000, Pastor Davis, felt the Lord sending him into uncharted territory, Southlake, Texas. Recognizing the need to develop a church in a growing community where few churches existed, Pastor Davis started the St. John North Family Fellowship Church (now named, St. John Southlake Campus). The church began as a small group of Christians meeting in various home-based settings. The meeting locations soon began meeting in a single office suite and later expanded to multiple office suites.

In 2004, St. John Church broke ground on the capital plan to build a full church facility to better serve the Southlake community. In December 2007, the St. John Southlake Campus, an 80,000 square foot facility that supports 2400 worshippers, was completed.
Under Pastor Davis’ guidance, St. John Church has become one church in multiple locations offering four Sunday worship services and three mid-week Bible studies every week.

Pastor Davis is married to Wanda Levette Bolton-Davis and has three children: Kandis Levette, Denny Dwight II, and Destiny DeYonne.

John Church has become one chu(continued)</itunes:summary>

Marvin Sapp Interview with National Radio Host Cedric Bailey

        Gospel Artist Marvin Sapp

On Friday morning August 6 I had the opportunity to spend some time with Pastor Marvin Sapp. Sapp was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1968 and began singing in church at age four. He spent his teenage years singing with a number of Gospel groups and ensembles before being invited by Gospel singer Fred Hammond to sing with Commissioned in 1991 after Keith Staten left. Marvin Sapp appears on the group's albums Number 7, Matters of the Heart, and Irreplaceable Love. Sapp left in 1996 and was replaced by Marcus R. Cole.

In 1995, Sapp decided to establish himself as a contemporary gospel solo artist and has recorded seven albums. Sapp first achieved crossover fame with the release of "Never Would Have Made It" from the album Thirsty in 2007. It peaked at #14 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, #82 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and also at #1 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart. Thirsty debuted at #28 on the U.S. Billboard 200, #4 on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and also #1 on the U.S. Billboard Top Gospel Albums. It has been certified gold by the RIAA due to the album selling over 500,000 copies, making it Sapp's bestselling album of his solo career, and has so far sold over 712,000 copies[1]. In 2009, Sapp won all seven Gospel Stellar Awards that he was nominated for.
Sapp recorded Thirsty’s follow-up album, Here I Am, on October 16, 2009 at Resurrection Life Church in Wyoming, Michigan and released it on March 16, 2010. With its release, Sapp became the all-time highest charting gospel artist in Billboard's 54-year history of tracking album sales.[2] By selling approximately 76,000 copies of Here I am its first week out; the album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart, making Here I Am the highest charting album ever by a gospel artist [3]. Here I Am's lead single, "The Best in Me," which was co-written by the album's producer, Aaron Lindsey (Israel Houghton), peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, #1 on Billboard's Gospel Songs chart[4] and reached #20 (with a bullet) on Billboard's Urban AC chart.
Finally in closing, I have been bless to introduce Marvin Sapp in concerts for our Radio Network in Orlando, FL for www.rejoice1140.com WRMQ, The WIDU Anniversary Celebration in Fayetteville, North Carolina www.widurejoice.com

The Grammy Award Winning Florence LaRue of the Fifth Dimension interview with Cedric Bailey

Intelligent, beautiful, and talented are the words that are frequently used when describing glamorous Florence LaRue, the original member of The 5th Dimension. Whether on stage performing, lecturing, or serving as a celebrity judge for beauty pageants, such as Miss Universe, Miss LaRue juggles her roles as actress, entertainer, and humanitarian with the same electric perfection that she devotes to ballads such as “One Less Bell” which bears The5th Dimension trademark. “I give my best to whatever I am involved with,” explains the mother, vocalist, actress, and concerned citizen, who is also a six-time Grammy winning star.

On the personal side, while God and family are Miss LaRue’s first priorities, her interests include cooking, music of various styles (especially country, gospel, classical and jazz), reading (particularly inspirational books and biographies of show business personalities), charity work, and her escalating speaking and acting careers.

I pray that this interview will be a great blessing to you and thanks for listening.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, two of the top contributors for the East all night, sealed the win with four clutch free throws in the final minute. Carmelo Anthony had a chance to win the game with a three as time expired but the forward's attempt clanked off of the rim.

Wade was named the game's Most Valuable Player after chipping in 28 points, 11 assists, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals. From his extraordinary dunks to his flashy passes, Wade made his presence felt and was all over the court tonight putting on a show for the record 108,713 fans in attendance. He was a highlight machine tonight, making big plays every time he touched the ball.

Bosh's contributions were also very impressive, especially when you consider the fact that he came off of the bench for the East. The team's starting power forward, Kevin Garnett, wanted to rest his knee and played only eleven minutes. This cleared the stage for Bosh, who stepped up and added 23 points and 10 rebounds.

LeBron James and Dwight Howard didn't steal the show but each had solid games and several of the most exciting plays of the night.

Both James and Howard opted to sit out of this year's dunk contest but used the All-Star stage to put on a highflying show. James had 25 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals including an amazing backwards, double clutch alley-oop finish from Wade. Howard's stat line was forgettable (17 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks) but his jaw-dropping dunks were better than most of the attempts we witnessed on Saturday evening. He also showed his range early in the first quarter, knocking down a three pointer and then staring at his hand in amazement.

For the West, Anthony took over with 27 points and 10 rebounds after his head coach George Karl challenged him to take the game seriously and play hard. While he missed the game winner at the buzzer, it was his terrific play that put the team in position to win after they fell behind by sixteen points in the third quarter.

Dirk Nowitzki played well in front of his home crowd. He knocked down the first two shots of the game and finished with 22 points and 4 rebounds in just twenty-eight minutes. Not surprisingly, he received the biggest ovation before the game and didn't let his fans down.

When the East started pulling away in the third quarter, the team lost their lead when Howard, Wade, and James turned every possession into a dunk contest. The players and fans didn't seem to mind getting a closer game and some incredible dunks.

The game was a success with its spectacular highlights and a fourth quarter that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Normally All-Star Games are known for the lack of effort involved but tonight we were treated to a close game in which both sides showed intensity until the final buzzer.

Meanwhile check out our interviews with Zach Randolph: Memphis Grizzlies,Deron Williams: Utah Jazz, Rajon Rondo:Boston Celtics, Pau Gasol: Los Angeles Lakers, Joe Johnson: Atlanta Hawks & Mark Cuban: Owner of the Dallas Mavericks.

Pastor Caesar also shared her concerns about the situation in Haiti.

Meanwhile here's a list of the winners.

Hezekiah Walker emerged as the big winner at the 25th edition of the Stellar Awards, over the weekend at the Grand Ole Opry House. Walker and his Love Fellowship Choir helped open the show sharing the stage with fellow contemporary choir Ricky Dillard & New G. Walker and company performed the title track from Souled Out, the project from which Walker’s five awards were garnered. The choir also performed Walker’s classic “I Need You to Survive.”
Walker and Love Fellowship took home awards as artist of the year, as well as for CD, choir, contemporary CD and contemporary choir of the Year. High-profile sister act Mary Mary picked up four awards, including song of the year for their high-octane hit “God in Me.” The duo also nabbed contemporary group/duo and urban/inspirational performance for their album The Sound.
Kirk Franklin, along with Donnie McClurkin and Vickie Winans, who picked up a female vocalist of the year award for her project How I Got Over. Brother Cedric, you may be able to SAY Marriage & Money in one breath, but the truth is, It’s easier to mix oil & water... ESPECIALLY at Christmas time! One cause of money problems with couples, according to a 2003 article by the New York Daily News, is that they don’t agree on how much money they have. Combine that with the ‘combustible’ flurry of Holiday advertising that goes into overdrive now, and you’ve got a recipe for a Christmas Financial Tsunami!

The Prairie View A&M Panthers are on a mission to win the SWAC. On Thurdsay night in Baton Rouge LA with 17.6 seconds left in a thrilling, muddy, high-stakes slugfest inside A.W. Mumford Stadium, the Southern Jaguars saw their best player lose the football in crunch time, a mere 6 yards away from the potential game-winning touchdown or with time left for a short field-goal try, allowing Prairie View to escape with a 16-14 victory Thursday night in a crucial Southwestern Athletic Conference showdown.
For the first time all season, star wide receiver Juamorris Stewart had been stripped, and the Panthers held him down as the ball trickled away. He could only look at the ball as it tumbled along the sloppy surface.
Prairie View covered it up.
In doing so, the Panthers (5-1, 4-0 SWAC) took control of the Western Division race.
In doing so, they suffocated the Jaguars’ dream of a conference championship.
“This was a big win. No doubt about it. No doubt about it,” said sixth-year coach Henry Frazier III, whose Prairie View program has risen from laughingstock to a physical, powerful contender on the cusp of a SWAC title.
“Somehow, some way, I knew our defense was going to step up.”
That it did.
Thanks to their victory Thursday, the Panthers can afford to lose one of their last three games and still reach the SWAC Championship Game in Birmingham, Ala., on Dec. 12.
As for Southern, its only chance to claim the West title is to win all of its last four games and hope Prairie View goes winless the rest of the way.
“Our players understood the magnitude of what this game meant,” SU coach Pete Richardson said. “We had an opportunity. Every time you blow that many opportunities, you’re not going to beat a good football team.”
It was the Panthers’ first win in A.W. Mumford Stadium since 1963.

Meanwhile it's time for this weeks picks in the NFL. Donal Ware has the 411 on this weeks games.

Dr Ian Smith on the 4 Day Diet with Cedric Bailey on Rejoice Musical Soul Food

        New from the author of
THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERS
The Fat Smash Diet and Extreme Fat Smash Diet

THE 4 DAY DIET

IAN K. SMITH, M.D.
Diet expert on VH-1’s Celebrity Fit Club
and creator of “The 50 Million Pound Challenge”

Like his #1 bestselling Fat Smash Diet, Dr. Ian Smith’s new book, THE 4 DAY DIET, is sure to be the must-have book for anyone with a New Year’s resolution to lose weight.

What really sets THE 4 DAY DIET apart from other diets is Dr. Ian’s emphasis on the mental component of weight loss, or “Mind Over Fat.” As the diet expert on Celebrity Fit Club, the creator of the national weight loss initiative The 50 Million Pound Challenge, and through work with thousands of dieters across the country, Dr. Ian has learned that the most critical part of weight loss success is mental preparation. Losing weight is 80 percent mental and 20 percent physical, as Dr. Ian says, and people need to “train their brain” to take on one of life’s toughest journeys.

THE 4-DAY DIET program is broken down into 4-day “modules,” so it’s much more effective and easier to stick with. Here’s why:
•	You can focus on just a few days rather than several weeks, which can feel overwhelming
•	The modules allow you to work a variety of foods into your diet, so you don’t get bored eating the same food and you don’t feel like you’re on a diet
•	Varying the types and amount of food you eat keeps your body off-kilter, requiring it to burn more energy, and preventing a much-dreaded weight-loss plateau

Dr. Ian designed THE 4-DAY DIET so you can customize your own program. After the first two modules—detox, to purify accumulated toxins in the body, and transition, to gradually reintroduce certain foods—you can do the remaining 5 in whichever order suits your schedule or preferences or you can repeat the modules you like best:
1.	Induction (detox/cleansing)
2.	Transition (to reintroduce all food groups
3.	Protein Stretch (to avoid plateaus)
4.	Smooth (when youcna have some formerly forbidden foods like pizza and french fries)
5.	Push (the sprint, just before the final stretch, back to a stricter eating plan)
6.	Pace (a comfortable module for you to catch your breath)
7.	Vigorous (the final module to lose those last few pounds)

With charts, questionnaires, mental exercises, and more than sixty recipes, THE 4-DAY DIET helps anyone diet SMARTER, and stay motivated to achieve their weight loss goals and maintain them. With over twenty years of experience watching how and why dieters lose weight—and how they don’t—Dr. Ian has developed a remarkably effective program that anyone can stay on for life.
